虹色のレイキャヴィク – A Rainbow of Reykjavik Favorites

Reykjavik Godzilla mural

Look down to see red rooftops, then up for an orange Batman, snack on yellow-ish hot dogs or Kleinur (Icelandic donuts),  get up close and personal with the green Godzilla, “ride” some blue bicycles, admire the sometimes purple-ish looking Harpa, or look – the whole rainbow!

レイキャヴィクって、カラフルでちょっと可愛い気がしません? 去年の夏、初めて行って、数日しか滞在しなかったものだが、なんだかすごく気に入れました。住んでもいいぐらい!

Reykjavik, this small northern capital, embraces an abundance of colors, and while it’s far from being cheap it feels welcoming and cheerful.

And warmish, at least during the summer. Not sure how I would like a place like Reykjavik/Iceland in general/ in the middle of winter (though seeing the Northern Lights is high on my wishlist), but given the chance, once it’s warmed up a bit, I would jump on a plane in a heartbeat.

Most of us are going to Iceland to experience its natural wonders, but spending a day or two in Reykjavik is also a must, especially if one likes to explore cool, hip and just adorably colorful places. (and who doesn’t?)
